Job Overview To undertake the technical and clinical reporting on a range of assessments across lung function and sleep including full lung function tests, six minute walk tests, oral exhaled nitric oxide tests, skin prick tests, muscle pressure tests, mannitol testing, blood gas measurement, overnight oximetry and respiratory polygraphy sleep studies as well as initiating CPAP and NIV on inpatients. To have assist and support the provision of all aspects of the Respiratory Lab service at the Royal United Hospital in conjunction with the senior and Lead clinical physiologist. Participate in quality assurance, audit and research and development programmes. Main duties of the job To work across both the RUH and Sulis hospital sites To plan, undertake and quality assure a range of simple, specialist, complex and highly complex diagnostic assessments undertaken within the department as outlined below. To carry out and document scheduled calibration, maintenance and quality control procedures for any equipment used to ensure that equipment is functioning to agreed standards, providing accurate and safe performance.
