About your team
The Chief Customer Office (CCO) aims to drive growth across Centrica Retail by focusing on excellent customer experience and attractive product propositions.
We’re seeking a passionate Head of SEO to lead organic growth for our brands. You will work across all UK Centrica retail brands, including British Gas and Hive, developing onsite growth strategies to attract more customers effectively through SEO and SEM.
About your role:
This role is crucial in enhancing our online presence and ensuring our content reaches the right audience. You will develop and implement SEO strategies, manage internal and agency teams, and collaborate across departments to meet business goals. A key focus is to build in-house SEO capabilities to reduce reliance on external agencies.
What will you be doing?
1. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute SEO strategies to improve search rankings and increase traffic to British Gas and Hive websites.
2. Identify Opportunities: Conduct keyword research and analysis to optimise content and identify new content opportunities.
3. Technical SEO: Oversee technical SEO aspects, including site architecture, crawlability, and indexation.
4. Collaborate: Work with content creators to embed SEO best practices into content development.
5. Performance reporting: Monitor website performance using SEO tools, providing reports and insights to stakeholders.
6. Keep up to date: Stay informed on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices.
7. Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of three SEO specialists, supporting their professional growth.
8. Growth alignment: Collaborate with marketing, product, and development teams to align SEO efforts with business objectives.
Here's what we’re looking for:
We seek an experienced SEO Lead with a proven track record of driving organic growth and improving search rankings for leading organisations. You should have deep technical SEO expertise, proficiency with tools like Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, strong analytical skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and leadership experience in managing teams.

* Judgment and Reasoning: Make informed decisions based on data and industry trends to improve search rankings and organic traffic.

* Leadership: Provide guidance and support to a team of three SEO specialists, fostering their development.
