About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Head Chef to develop our business through excellent food standards.
The Head Chef will oversee the kitchen team at the Folk Hall in York, providing a wide variety of freshly prepared dishes for a high-quality, busy food outlet open six days a week, alongside a developing events space.
This role involves operational management of catering services at the Folk Hall and an adjacent state-of-the-art care facility, including food management, compliance with food safety regulations, and achieving food GP%.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders such as residents, staff, the public, and the wider JRHT community is a key aspect of the role.
About you:
You are looking for a role that offers autonomy to develop food provision across sites. You are passionate about great food and customer service, hold a minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification, and have demonstrated success in your culinary career. Relevant catering qualifications and experience in leading and developing a team are essential, along with a focus on efficiency and value for money. Motivating and inspiring others naturally comes to you, and you have a passion for food and service. A positive, can-do attitude is a must. We never say no!
