Lecturer - SEND / SEMH
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in SEND / SEMH to join our Foundation Learning department at The Bedford College Group.

Salary & Benefits
Salary between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum (DOE and qualifications). 45 days annual leave, bank holidays, teacher’s pension, retail and leisure discounts, and professional development opportunities.
Hours & Contract
37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Permanent full‑time contract.
Responsibilities
* Empower 16–24‑year‑olds who’ve faced barriers to learning.
* Deliver functional skills (Maths & English), employability and personal development sessions, adapting to diverse needs including EHCPs and SEND learners.
* Support a small specialist team that values potential, builds trust and promotes emotional wellbeing through trauma‑informed, restorative practices.
* Maintain high standards of safeguarding, equality, health & safety and continuous professional development in line with college policies.
About You
* Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd) or progressing toward one.
* Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or similar vulnerabilities.
* Strong understanding of Functional Skills and/or Employability programmes.
* Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
* Committed to delivering trauma‑informed, inclusive education.
