With 1200+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 28 offices and 17 jurisdictions, we are expanding our Risk Management team with the addition of a Junior Business Acceptance Analyst. This role is based in our Liverpool office and supports the Business Acceptance Manager and Senior Business Acceptance Analysts in all aspects of new client and matter intake.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for day-to-day tasks relating to all aspects of the firm's Client and Matter Inception processes.
* Undertaking client due diligence checks and determining the nature and level of due diligence required to comply with Anti-Money Laundering Regulations.
* Carrying out conflict searches, identifying and resolving (and escalating as appropriate) any conflict issues arising from searches or reviews.
* Using external and internal databases and conducting research as part of client due diligence.
* Assessing the risk profile of new and existing clients and matters and escalating issues as appropriate.
* Providing advice to partners, fee earners and secretaries on Anti-Money Laundering, inception and conflicts queries.
* Ensuring information barriers are created, amended and maintained, and flagging any issues arising from the information barrier process to the business as required.
* Assisting the Business Acceptance Team in answering ad hoc queries that come into the Risk Team's inbox.
* Actively participating in team and firm-wide projects to support the practice and our international offices.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
* Experience in conducting client due diligence and/or conflicts analysis is preferred but not essential.
* Experience working in an international law firm is preferred but not essential.
* Understanding of the SRA rules regarding conflicts of interest and confidentiality, and commercial conflicts, is an advantage but not essential.
* Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to research and succinctly present information from various sources.
* Ability to analyse data and reach reasoned conclusions.
* Experience in dealing effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
* Ability to juggle tasks and be flexible to meet business demands, prioritise workload and take ownership of tasks.
* Strong team ethic with awareness of work levels in the wider team and willingness to assist others.
* Able to adapt to new processes and technology.

Education/Experience
* A university degree is preferred.
* Experience working in a legal or other professional environment is preferred.
* Experience of compliance databases and IT systems is preferred.
* This role is open to graduate applicants.
