G4S Patient Transport Services (PTS) is one of the UK's largest Non-Emergency Patient Transport providers, carrying out over 500,000 journeys on behalf of the NHS every year. With 12 operational bases across the UK and a dedicated call centre, we employ over 720 members of staff to deliver safe, caring, high-quality patient transport.
About the Role
The Quality Governance Lead will play a pivotal role in overseeing quality assurance within G4S PTS, driving continuous improvement across operations and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining quality standards, ensuring adherence to our Quality Management System (QMS), and fostering a culture of excellence throughout the organisation.
The role will provide effective leadership and supervision to develop, implement and maintain quality excellence. Day-to-day, the role will oversee the activities required to meet the quality standards set for the services.
The role will report directly to the Head of Governance, producing data and reports that highlight the performance of the quality management system and conformance with the quality management plan and processes
Some of the key responsibilities for this role are;
Quality Standards Development:
* Develop and implement best practice quality standards for G4S PTS.
* Ensure personnel and processes are compliant with established quality standards.
Continuous Improvement Plans:
* Collaborate with functional leads to create and monitor periodic improvement plans tailored to their business areas.
Quality Management System Oversight:
* Ensure the effectiveness of the QMS, including timely updates of policies, standards, and plans by functional leads.
* Maintain the functionality of SafetyCulture tools, ensuring they provide necessary notifications for QMS updates.
* Ensure all controlled documents are managed within the QMS, preventing external copies from existing at site levels.
* Take overall responsibility for maintaining best practices in quality and procedure management.
Audit and Compliance Oversight:
* Oversee audit and compliance processes in alignment with CQC regulations and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Coordinate internal and external audit processes and ensure timely addressing of any findings, using Safety Culture.
* Manage all actions and hold managers to account for non-compliance. Identify trends, create solutions, and create action plans to help drive quality improvements.
Policy and Procedure Review:
* Regularly review existing policies, standards, and procedures to ensure alignment with current guidelines and best practices.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Engage with external stakeholders to ensure compliance with established Quality Standards.
* Manage all client improvement initiatives, specifically those related to Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).
* Training and Development:
* Liaise with the Learning and Development Manager and road staff to provide training, tools, and techniques that empower others to achieve quality standards.
Effectiveness Assessment:
* Assess the effectiveness of implemented changes and ensure the organisation remains competitive through efficient operations.
Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives:
* Coordinate initiatives aimed at improving environmental sustainability, focusing on waste reduction and operational efficiency.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
* Enhance all aspects of the QMS by analysing data and trends and providing comprehensive reports on performance metrics.
* Report monthly on closed items, schedules, and any overdue items.
* To maintain and enhance the PTS data processing protocols.
Risk Management:
* Inspect the QMS for weaknesses and risks, implementing changes as necessary.
* Identify, measure, manage, and report risks, developing processes for effective risk evaluation and compliance assessments.
Root Cause Analysis:
* Champion root cause analysis and establish preventative actions to mitigate future issues.
* Licensing Management:
* Manage and maintain all operating licences required for compliance.
ISO Certifications:
* Continually evolve the QMS and best practices to achieve ISO certifications.
* Implement and project manage: ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 14001.
Collaborative Efforts:
* Work closely with business assurance colleagues, such as Health & Safety, to identify synergies and implement efficiencies.
Additional Duties:
* Act as the Assistant Senior Information Risk Owner (Ast. SIRO).
* Assist the Quality Improvement Manager in implementing business improvement initiatives, including the
* Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
* Perform other duties as assigned.
About you
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and excellent communication skills, with a flexible approach.
You will have proven experience in quality assurance, continuous improvement, and risk management with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and put in place preventative measures
