Key Responsibilities
* Teach a range of full and part-time courses according to college and curriculum specifications.
* Contribute to planning, monitoring, and evaluating the curriculum.
* Prepare and mark assessments within the programmes.
* Promote and participate in Basic / Key Skills delivery.
* Improve attendance, punctuality, retention, and achievement of students.
* Produce reports and references on students.
* Participate in student interviews, enrolment, induction, open days, and liaison activities.
* Work cooperatively within a team and attend team meetings.
* Contribute to the college’s ILT strategy and maintain the intranet site.
* Adopt curriculum initiatives and maintain up-to-date specialist knowledge.
* Maintain resources, Schemes of Work, Lesson Plans, and teaching materials with differentiated learning opportunities.
* Enhance the total learning experience and ensure inclusive learning.
* Engage in professional development and other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential: Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards it.
Desirable: Degree or relevant professional qualification (e.g., HNC/D).
Experience: Teaching experience or industry practical/industrial experience in the subject area.
Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the subject and current educational initiatives; innovative approach to teaching materials.
IT Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills; willingness to undertake relevant IT training. Knowledge of software like promonitor, goldmine, or VLEs is a plus.
