Salary: approximately £90,000 to £100,000, dependent on experience, plus a 10% bonus, car allowance, 28 days holiday, a market-leading pension scheme with 7.5% employee contribution and 15% employer contribution, among other benefits.

Are you ready to lead in one of the most ambitious UK infrastructure projects? The Sizewell C (SZC) Project is seeking Head of Commercial professionals to join our dynamic teams. This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of the UK's energy revolution, contributing to a project that will supply sustainable electricity to 6 million homes and support Britain's journey to Net Zero by 2050.
This role involves overseeing procurement, negotiation, and commercial management of SZC's main construction contracts, categorized by Programmes such as Equipment, Conventional Island, Nuclear Island, Main Civil Works, and Enabling Works.
The Role
As a Head of Commercial, you will manage relationships with suppliers within your Programme portfolio, act as the primary contact for all commercial matters, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders. You will promote SZC’s values and ensure project requirements are met and delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Procurement, negotiation, and execution of construction contracts, ensuring value for money and cost transparency.
* Developing procurement and contracting strategies aligned with project objectives.
* Managing procurement schedules and taking corrective actions to meet milestones.
* Administering vendor assessments, information exchange, and evaluating tenders to ensure compliance.
* Managing awarded contracts in line with contractual and governance requirements, aiming for successful closure.
* Providing oversight of contracts to ensure alignment with project goals, with regular reporting on scope, schedule, and costs.
* Facilitating rapid resolution of commercial issues to achieve equitable outcomes.
What We're Looking For
* Membership in RICS, ICE, CICES, IOB, CIPS, or an equivalent professional body.
* Proven experience in senior roles within complex projects, managing procurement and contract administration.
* Strong commercial management and leadership skills, with knowledge of UK contract methodologies.
* Exceptional decision-making skills regarding high-value financial matters.
* Deep understanding of procurement, risk management, and contract performance measurement.
* Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
* Experience working with standard contracts like NEC and FIDIC in the power/construction sector.
