Job Summary
The post holder will be part of our team of Diabetes Nurse Specialists delivering a comprehensive, high-quality, evidence-based Diabetes Specialist Nursing service to a designated population within Powys. They will collaborate with Multi-disciplinary Teams across Primary, Community, and Secondary Care along integrated pathways of care. The role involves contributing to the planning and development of Diabetes services across Powys and providing training and development to PTHB staff and partners within the Community Resource Team on diabetes management, treatment, and care.

We are looking to recruit a motivated, forward-thinking Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team in Powys Teaching Health Board. The role involves providing high-standard diabetes nursing care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, with a focus on virtual and face-to-face consultations. Qualifications/Knowledge
* Registered nurse with live NMC registration
* Degree in Nursing or a related health subject
* Post-registration specialist training / supplementary qualifications to Masters level in Diabetes
* Teaching qualification or evidence of teaching/assessing skills
Experience
* Management experience demonstrating service improvements
* Clinical assessment and caseload management experience, especially in respiratory care
Aptitude and Abilities
* Proficiency with computer systems (email, word processing, spreadsheets)
* Significant clinical experience in patient care assessment and management
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to motivate and lead service development and change initiatives
* Knowledge of NHS nursing issues and professional standards
Additional Requirements
* Ability to speak Welsh is desirable
* Compliance with DBS checks
* Current UK professional registration
