With over 130 years of pioneering experience, GE offers two HVDC technologies: • Line Commutated Converters (LCC) • Voltage Source Converters (VSC) These support a broad range of applications and can be deployed in different schemes, including: • Overhead line (point-to-point) • Back-to-back • Submarine/land cable • Offshore Every HVDC solution is tailored based on a project-by-project assessment of the customer's requirements, whether for: • Connecting offshore wind generation • Long distance power transmission • Energy trading between independent networks Job Description The Senior Project Manager (HVDC) is directly accountable for all execution aspects of the HVDC-specific project scope. You will: Manage the execution phase for a large GE work package of a mega HVDC project (typically more than 500 M$) Lead all project activities to ensure schedule compliance, quality standards, and budget adherence Drive financial delivery in accordance with the forecast (Sales/CM/Billing/Cash) Be responsible for driving the EHS culture within your sphere of influence during all project stages You will be responsible for the local (onshore) scope of a mega wind farm interconnector project and report to the Project Director. Roles and Responsibilities Strategic & Leadership Manage the execution phase for a large GE work package of one mega HVDC project, typically more than 500 M$. Lead the company’s strategic vision on project lead‑time reduction, especially in engineering and installation/commissioning, and on workload cost reduction (Engineering, Project Management) by minimizing re‑design. Lead and coach the implementation of this strategic vision by working with a multicultural, cross‑functional project team across GE regions (USA, Europe, Asia), composed of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls (cost & planning), Finance, and Contract Management. Lead and coach subject matter experts or act as Lead Technical knowledge in HVDC, mentoring and training colleagues on HVDC topics and providing one‑on‑one guidance to help them understand and optimize their HVDC knowledge. Lead and coach the transition of successful bids (ITO) into the delivery phase (OTR), and lead ongoing project development. Customer & Market Interface Customer interface: meeting with clients, stakeholders and project managers to report on project progress and resolve key topics. Liaising with clients and building strong working relationships. Lead liaison with the customer, providing feedback on customer and market needs received from the team when elaborating/presenting proposals or supporting business development: technical gaps, commercial needs. Share winning arguments and lessons learned to support the company’s strategic vision. Project Planning & Execution Accountable for the Project Planning: follow‑up of project milestones (handover from ITO (receiver), KO, design freeze, engineering, procurement, assembly, FAT, site works, PAC). Responsible to obtain customer inputs when required. Risk and Opportunities: identification of project risks and opportunities (R&Os), definition of action plans and project execution strategy. Project Financials & Commercial Project Financials: Sales, Billing, Cash, project review, margin deviation monitoring (BDR) and CTC via Unifier & Tableau. Project Commercial topics: Change Management, Claims, VOs, LDs negotiation, Bonds, Warranty. Technical Delivery & Supply Chain Engineering Solution Delivery: accountable for engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with contract requirements with required quality and on‑time delivery. Procurement / Production / Delivery / Construction: Accountable for procurement and production within scope. Maintain communication with the customer. Lead customer FATs. Coordinate shipping and logistics with the customer. Project Closing Project closing: accountable for the handover with customer, closing of snags, last payments, bond recollection, handling of warranty issues, performing return on experience, closing of project and transfer to Service. Stakeholder Management Work effectively with external and internal customers, all stakeholders, and project team members. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or project management Minimum 10 years of related experience with Project Management – Power Distribution and/or HVDC Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestic and international Compliance with all relevant GE company travel and tax policies Desired Characteristics PMP certification or equivalent Master’s degree in project engineering or project management Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs Established project management skills Organized, passionate, and goal‑oriented Able to work under pressure and comfortable with change and complexity in dynamic environments Strong financial acumen We deliver integrated project solutions to enable large‑scale electrification and support our customer needs.
