NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first. The Supply Chain Modernisation Programme is transforming NHS supply‑chain processes, systems and data through the implementation of new ERP and supply‑chain solutions. This is a major, multi‑partner, multi‑year transformation requiring clear, senior leadership to ensure data and systems enable effective operational control, performance management and decision‑making across the supply chain. As processes and systems are redesigned, the programme requires strong strategic, supply‑chain‑led oversight of how data, performance management and insight are designed into the future operating model. The Data & Reporting Lead provides authoritative direction on data, performance and information requirements across all value streams, ensuring the right foundations, standards and future performance frameworks are defined from the outset. The role sets intent and architecture rather than building reports, analytical product or individual metrics, ensuring the organisation is ready for go‑live and long‑term operational effectiveness. The role operates horizontally across all domains, working closely with Value Stream Leads, Process Owners, Programme Delivery and Change teams, the Delivery Assurance Provider and delivery partners. It provides senior guidance and informed challenge to reporting, data and analytics specialists and acts as the strategic authority defining what information and performance capability the future supply chain requires, rather than owning delivery of reporting solution.

* Set the programme‑wide vision and strategic direction for supply‑chain data, performance management and analytics across all value streams.
* Assess current-state measurement and information flows and define the future performance framework (e.g. balanced scorecards, control and exception‑based management), clarifying what must be measured and why.
* Ensure performance, data and insight requirements are embedded into ERP and supply‑chain solution design, working closely with solution architects, process owners and delivery partners.
* Act as the business lead for the future metrics and reporting landscape, partnering with IT Reporting, Data and Analytics teams who deliver the technical solutions.
* Provide oversight that data and reporting capabilities will support operational control, decision‑making and benefits realisation, aligned to programme milestones and implementation waves.
* Influence data standards, quality and consistency from a supply‑chain performance perspective, ensuring information is trusted and usable to run and optimise the supply chain.
Skills and Experience
* Significant experience operating at a senior level across data, performance or insight within large, multi‑partner supply‑chain or ERP transformation programmes, providing strategic direction rather than hands‑on delivery.
* Deep understanding of ERP and supply‑chain systems, including core processes, data models and end‑to‑end information flows.
* Proven ability to define and prioritise enterprise‑level performance and reporting intent, guiding others rather than designing reports or metrics.
* Strong knowledge of data quality, governance and control principles, with the ability to assess whether data foundations will support reliable decision‑making.
* Experience working with systems integrators and third‑party partners, providing informed challenge and assurance to ensure alignment with supply‑chain and performance objectives.
