Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our team at Proactive Future Care. This role involves providing personalised care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in child welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Duties
* Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.
* Support children with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational pursuits.
* Foster positive relationships through effective communication, active listening, and empathetic engagement.
* Assist with behavioural management strategies as outlined in care plans, promoting positive development.
* Accompany children on outings or appointments, utilising driving skills where necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of support provided, behaviour incidents, and progress reports.
* Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each individual.
* Adhere to organisational policies and procedures regarding safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality.
Skills
* Experience working with children or in childcare environments is highly desirable.
* Valid driving licence with the ability to drive children safely to appointments or activities.
* Strong understanding of child development and behavioural needs.
* Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual requirements.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
* Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
* Compassionate attitude with patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role is vital in supporting vulnerable children and young people through dedicated care and guidance.
