The Role
This post is based in the Unscheduled CAMHS team who provide a service within the geographical area of Lanarkshire. This team is established of nurses and healthcare clinical support workers. NHS Lanarkshire CAMHS provide a service to infants, children and young people up to the age of 18.
The role provides a high quality mental health service to children and young people and their families within the Unscheduled CAMHS Team. This includes working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the department’s policies and procedures including:
* assessment of young people and their families referred to the service and supervision of band 5 nurses
* assessment and management of unscheduled care for young people who present in crisis including self-harm, suicide prevention, eating disorders etc
* the provision of therapeutic interventions to these young people and their families utilising a range of therapeutic modalities as required
* physical observations as required
* The post holder will be expected to work with the full range of presenting difficulties referred to the team
Additional Information Specific to the Role
This post is based in a multidisciplinary CAMHS Team providing a service within the geographical area of Lanarkshire. These are well established multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrist, clinical psychologists, Nursing and CAMHC’s.
NHS Lanarkshire CAMHS provide a service to infants, children and young people up to the age of 18 if they are still in secondary education.

What we'll need you to bring
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration Mental Health/Learning Disabilities
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
* Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice
* Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
* The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Crisis/Community posts – a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence

The working pattern for this role offers a varied shift pattern, working within the days/hours (Mon to Fri 8am to 8pm)
