Quality Control Engineer - Civils - Plymouth
Responsibilities
1. Manage defects and rectification processes, ensuring NCRs are raised and tracked.
2. Ensure compliance with employer works information, specifications, and instructions, providing input to project quality reports and supporting in off-site inspections.
3. Witness and conduct material inspections, testing, and review test results within your qualifications and experience.
4. Perform quality control inspections during track construction and manage quality checks by construction teams.
5. Witness completion of Quality Control checklists for all track construction activities.
6. Ensure all site Quality Control activities are performed according to the track Inspection and Test Plan.
7. Monitor the Inspection and Test Plan for witness, validation, and acceptance activities.
8. Support the Quality Control Manager on all quality-related matters, including delivery of quality standards.
9. Assist in inspections by the Independent Third Party Inspection Authority and in developing Inspection and Test Plans and related documentation.
10. Provide operational support and advice to ensure works and management systems meet quality standards "At Each Stage, Right First Time Every Time".
11. Participate in quality audits of projects, suppliers, and contractors.
12. Monitor and report on the implementation of company policies and procedures.
13. Assist in collecting and compiling project objectives, targets, and KPI data.
14. Help in preparing and implementing quality training courses.
15. Ensure certifications are available and copies are obtained during construction.
16. Liaise with client Quality Control counterparts.
17. Raise Non-Conformance Reports for track construction works.
18. Maintain, archive, and review all track Quality Control records and support in compiling Lifetime Quality Records.
19. Ensure traceability of materials throughout the construction process.
20. Witness FATs, SATs, and tests on permanent and temporary works based on risk and quality indicators.
21. Oversee change requests and concessions, ensuring sign-off and completion before construction.
22. Support in verifying that work has been delivered correctly on or off-site.
Requirements
* Previous experience in quality and inspections on projects of similar size and complexity.
* Experience in Civils.
* Ability to obtain SC Clearance; Nuclear/MOD experience is desirable.
Qualifications
* Essential: HND/HNC in Civils or equivalent experience.
* Desirable: ISO 9001 Auditor, formal training in relevant disciplines, CSCS Card, IOSH certification.
