Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic dietitian to join our community dietetics team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). This is a 12-month fixed-term role offering the chance to develop clinical expertise in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
This role is ideal for experienced Band 6 dietitians or Band 5s ready for the next step, with the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across a diverse caseload in North Cumbria and the nearby Lake District.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a comprehensive and patient-centred community dietetic service within NCIC, providing clinical care and education across a diverse caseload.
* Offer expert advice and specialist input into the nutritional management of patients of all ages, including areas such as nutritional support, gastrointestinal disorders, food allergies, weight management, home enteral feeding, and in-patient care in community hospitals.
* Provide high-quality care to individuals referred by GPs, community hospitals, care homes, and other professionals; manage a caseload of enterally-fed patients with support from the Enteral Nurse Specialist.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of the Nutrition & Dietetic service through audits, service evaluation, and innovation, working with Dietetic Leads and colleagues.
* Be part of a supportive team of 19 dietitians and 4 dietetic assistants/apprentices across acute, community, and paediatric settings, delivering evidence-based dietetic care.
* Promote professional development through regular supervision and CPD opportunities; mentor student dietitians from North West and North East universities.
* Engage in activities that support NCIC’s ambition to deliver outstanding healthcare services and sustainable, rural/remote care, within a centre of excellence.
Qualifications and Skills
* Qualified dietitian with clinical knowledge and a passion for community-based care; confident managing patients across all age groups.
* Strong communication and team-working skills; ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development and the ability to contribute to audits, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
