Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician? Are you based in or around Hartlepool?
We have a permanent Electrical Maintenance Technician role available within TATA Steel's Hartlepool site. This role is ideal for someone with strong problem solving skills and is approachable, motivated and experienced within their field.
Role: Electrical Maintenance Technician
Location: TATA Steel, Hartlepool Works, Brenda Rd, Hartlepool TS25 2EG
Rate: £41,008 (starting) - £45,043 (inclusive of shift allowance)
Shift Patterns: 12 hour days and nights: X2 days, X2 nights and then X4 off
Responsibilities:
1. Assisting the engineering team to carry out preventive maintenance, installation and breakdown activities as required
2. Ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are maintained and safe working procedures are followed
3. Responsibility for conducting all aspects of the job in a safe manner
4. Adhering to statutory and mandatory safety regulations, procedures and policies.
5. Providing first line technical expertise and knowledge to identify and rectify faults in complex systems to minimise plant downtime
6. Suggesting and implementing improvements to process control systems
7. Ensuring that any deficiencies found are repaired expediently and that repairs are robust enough to prevent a recurrence
8. Assisting the engineering team to carry out maintenance, installation and breakdown activities as required
Essential requirements:
9. Hold a recognised Electrical maintenance Qualification (level 3, BTEC, NC, NVQ equivalent) or have completed an electrical apprenticeship
10. Overhead cranes and associated safety systems experience
11. Expertise with AC and DC motor/gearbox drive systems
12. Ability to interpret electrical drawings
13. Experience with PLC's in the main Siemens & Allen Bradley including HMI's
14. Experience with Variable speed motor control with inverters and converters, including speed feedback devices
15. Ability to problem solve independently
16. Strong written and verbal communication skills
17. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate efficiently
18. Sound IT Literacy skills
19. Motivated approach to tasks
