LOCATION: Office base is flexible. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join the BBC News HR team. This is a critical HR role working closely with the teams within BBC News and BBC HR. We're looking for a dynamic HR Business Partner to join the BBC News HR team on a fixed term contract until 26th March 2026. This is a newly created role designed to support a major operating model transformation programme within BBC News - one of the most high-profile and fast-moving divisions in the BBC. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of our international teams as we implement a new regional model and navigate significant organisational change.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
As HR Business Partner (International Transformation), you will:
Partner with senior leaders and project teams to deliver a complex transformation programme across BBC News.
Manage the HR workstream for projects that are part of the BBC News's operating model transformation programme
Support and coach managers through redundancy and reorganisation processes, including consultation planning and delivery.
Design and manage HR delivery timelines, balancing legal compliance with business needs.
Engage confidently with key stakeholders in this change e.g. employees, business managers, trade unions and staff groups including leading collective consultation processes.
Collaborate closely with the operational HR team to ensure alignment and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Work closely with our internal legal team to interpret legal advice and assess risks to provide pragmatic, business-focused recommendations.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment and brings:
Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, ideally within a large, complex, and international organisation.
The candidate will be confident in delivering transformation processes-including redundancy and reorganisation-in international jurisdictions across the globe, navigating complex employment landscapes with ease and professionalism.
A strong track record of supporting transformation and organisational change projects.
Confidence in managing redundancy and reorganisation processes, including union consultation and broader stakeholder engagement.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with the ability to assess legal risk and advise accordingly.
Demonstrates agility in navigating change, adapting quickly to shifting business priorities.
Confident in agreeing and reporting on key milestones, using all available resources e.g. tableau
Curiosity and adaptability to quickly understand new jurisdictions and employment landscapes.
