A leading organisation in the space technology sector is seeking a Senior AIT Technician to support the assembly, integration and test of satellite systems and space-based hardware.
This is a hands-on interim role supporting active space programmes, working within a highly skilled engineering team to deliver critical build and test activities on time and to the highest quality standards.
* Mechanical and electrical assembly and integration of satellite sub-systems and flight hardware
* Wiring, harnessing and connector terminations to IPC-A-610 / IPC-A-620 standards
* Soldering and rework activities to IPC J-STD-001
* Execution of functional testing and accurate recording of test data
* Fault finding and troubleshooting at component and system level
* Working from engineering drawings, schematics and build instructions
* Maintaining cleanroom, ESD and quality compliance standards
* Supporting efficient delivery across live programme schedules
What We’re Looking For
* 5–10+ years’ hands-on experience in AIT, electronics assembly or test roles within space, aerospace or defence
* Strong practical experience in wiring, soldering, harnessing and integration
* Solid understanding of IPC standards (A-610, A-620, J-STD-001)
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
* Experience with test equipment (DVMs, oscilloscopes, etc.)
* Experience working in cleanroom / ESD-controlled environments
