We’re now looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our ambitious team. Your Role
As Business Development Manager, you’ll play a central role in Wattle’s growth. You’ll manage bids end-to-end, ensuring every submission is persuasive and professional, while also converting a pipeline of new and repeat business opportunities.
You won’t be working in isolation. Partnering closely with our Chief Commercial Officer, you’ll be given the platform to represent Wattle in the market, build strong relationships, and ensure we stand out from the crowd. This role is all about impact: converting opportunities into wins and helping accelerate our growth trajectory.
Your Responsibilities
* Seize growth opportunities – qualify and pursue new business leads across our key membership market.
* Build a winning pipeline – manage and progress new and repeat business opportunities from first contact through to successful close.
* Be the face of Wattle – develop lasting relationships with prospects, earning trust as a go-to partner.
* Get out there – represent Wattle at networking events, exhibitions, and industry forums to showcase our expertise and generate fresh leads.
* Turn ideas into wins – support the CCO in delivering sales campaigns, client outreach, and commercial initiatives that directly drive growth.
Bid & Proposal Management
* Manage the process – manage every stage of the bid journey, from qualification through to polished submission and final presentation.
* Qualify smartly – assess tenders, RFIs, and briefs to ensure we focus on the right opportunities with the best chance of success.
* Craft compelling stories – leverage cutting edge Copilot AI to translate client needs into clear, persuasive proposals that highlight Wattle’s strengths and solutions.
* Collaborate with impact – work with internal experts to gather content and package it into standout submissions.
* Deliver with confidence – prepare and support pitch meetings, demos, and presentations that win hearts and minds.
* Continuously improve – track performance, analyse outcomes, and refine the process to boost our win rates.
* Stay ahead – maintain a rich bid library of templates, documents, and insights so we’re always pitch-ready.
About You
* Proven track record in business development within tech or digital services.
* Demonstrable success in managing complex bids, tenders, or proposals and leveraging AI tools to automate the process.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and the Umbraco CMS.
* Excellent written communication skills; able to craft clear, persuasive, prospect-focused content.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align prospect needs to Wattle’s capabilities.
* Confident communicator and presenter, comfortable in sales meetings and pitches.
* Detail-focused with strong organisational skills.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and target-driven, with a collaborative approach.
