Join Our Team as a Support Worker in Radstock (BA3)

Location: Radstock, BA3 (Just a 7min Drive from Dragonfly Leisure Midsomer Norton)
Pay Rate: £14.11 per hour + £50 per sleep-in shift
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 Hours Per Week)
Shifts Available:

1. Long Day with Sleep-In: 9:00 AM – 9:00 AM (next day)
2. 2:1 Support: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM (daily), 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Thursdays)
3. Sleep-In Shifts: 1–2 per week
Driver Requirement: Auto-friendly licence essential

Who Will You Be Supporting?

You’ll be supporting a gentleman in his 30s who lives with autism, a learning disability, and sensory processing difficulties. He has a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan in place, and training will be provided to ensure you feel confident and supported in your role.

Support is provided on a 1:1 basis, with 2:1 support every day between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

5. Swimming and archery (he’s very skilled!)
6. Walks, shopping trips, and days out
7. Holidays to the Forest of Dean
8. Hot tubs and outdoor activities
9. Sensory contact and being part of conversations

He’s very sociable, loves a good laugh, and enjoys feeling included in what’s going on around him. His family is very involved and visits regularly, with strong partnership working in place.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Support Worker, you’ll be:

10. Providing Personal Care: Supporting with daily routines and hygiene
11. Promoting Independence: Encouraging choice and autonomy in daily life
12. Supporting Behavioural Needs: Following a PBS plan and using positive behaviour support strategies (training provided)
13. Planning Activities: Creatively supporting new experiences and community engagement
14. Building Relationships: Creating a sense of safety, trust, and consistency
15. Working Collaboratively: Communicating with family and professionals

Experience with behaviours of distress and PBS is desirable, but not essential—we’ll provide full training if you share our values.
