To aid in the delivery of the organisations training and developmentprogramme, which aligns with the Practices strategic aims. The Training andDevelopment Officer, in conjunction with HR Business Manager, will provide adviceand support for all training and development matters.

The Training and Development Officer will support the HR BusinessManager to ensure our training and development offer enables anemployee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasises quality,productivity, goal attainment and ongoing development of a high performingworkforce. As a Training and Development Officer, you will collaboratewith various teams to ensure employees receive the necessary training to excelin their roles and contribute to the overall success of Pathfields MedicalGroup.

This role is for 20 hours per week across four days. (Please disregard the information that says 15 hours).


Main duties of the job

The Training and Development Officer, in conjunction with the HR Business Manager, supports the implementation of services, policies and procedures.The primary focus will be identifying training needs, designing relevant programs, and assessing their impact on employee performance.

Job responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

The following are the core responsibilities of the Training andDevelopment Officer. The Training and Development Officer is expected to workclosely with the HR Business Manager. There may be on occasion, a requirementto carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workloadand staffing levels:

Workin conjunction with the HR Business Manager to support the preparation and implementationof training and development strategies and programmes.

Liaisewith managers and team leaders to ensure relevant training is provided to allstaff and new areas of training are identified and implemented in a timelymanner.

Managethe onboarding of GP students and trainees to ensure a smooth and robustinduction process and ongoing support whilst they are with Pathfields.

Liaisewith the relevant partner and GP mentors to ensure adequate support isavailable to the students and trainees

Adviseand provide guidance on training and development policies and procedures to managers and team leaders.

Implementand support the governance and management processes that relate to theagreement and sign off of adhoc training and development across theorganisation.

Ensureemployee mandatory training is up to date and recorded on Practice Index.

Providereports to team leaders and managers on the completion of mandatory training.

Reviewand evaluate the staff onboarding programme annually to ensure this capturesall relevant processes for IT access, pensions and financial purposes.

Developand implement a robust induction programme to ensure we have a fit for purposeinduction process for all staff and students working at Pathfields.

Reviewthe existing appraisal process and implement robust changes to ensure an effectivestaff appraisal process that is consistently applied across the Practice.

Co-ordinatingthe reviewing and updating of all training and development policies and procedures.

ManageHR electronic training files to ensure they are legally compliant and kept upto date in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Supportin the line management of the Training Administrator

Work with the HRBusiness Manager and the wider management to design and implement developmentpathways for team leaders and management roles.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
* Minimum 1 years experience of developing and implementing Training and Development programmes and relevant materials.
* Learning and Development Qualification or working towards


Experience

* Experience of working with the public
* Proven track record of developing and delivering training to staff at all levels
* Experience of deploying a wide variety of training methods
* Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc
* Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures
* Experience of chairing meetings, producing agendas and minutes
* Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects
* Experience of working in a health care setting


Skills

* Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presenting)
* Excellent leadership skills
* Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals
* Ability to prioritise, delegate and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
* Ability to network and build relationships
* Proven problem solving & analytical skills
* Ability to develop, implement and embed policy and procedure
* Ability to motivate and train staff
