Job Description:
At Quest Global, we are looking for a LV Schematic Engineer (SME) to join our Energy customer team based in Staffordshire, United Kingdom.
Location: Staffordshire, UK
Contract Duration: 6 months
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
* Proven experience (8-12 years) in designing, developing, and implementing low voltage secondary systems for power distribution applications.
* Proficiency in Engineering Base software for creating engineering drawings and schematics.
* Experience as an Electrical Schematics Engineer, focusing on Electrical Control & Protection Cubicle Design & Wiring Drawings.
* Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution fundamentals, and low voltage equipment.
* Experience with protective relay coordination, arc flash analysis, and fault current calculations.
* Knowledge of industry standards such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, and NEMA.
* Project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and oversee electrical control and protection cubicles for industrial applications.
* Conceptualize and detail cubicle designs using Engineering Base software.
* Design low voltage secondary systems including transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
* Create general arrangement and layout drawings ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.
* Collaborate with engineers and project managers to align designs with project goals.
* Conduct feasibility studies and optimize design solutions for space and functionality.
* Ensure safety standards and electrical codes are met.
* Prepare BOMs and technical documentation for cubicle designs.
* Understand electrical components and their application in schematics.
* Stay updated on the latest electrical materials and incorporate them into designs.
* Support manufacturing and installation teams during production.
* Review vendor proposals and technical submissions related to cubicle components.
