Temporary Works Coordinator

Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £45,000 – £52,000 + Car Allowance
We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to join our client’s civil engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Temporary Works on a major infrastructure project, working closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure safe and compliant delivery.
The Role
1. Coordinate Temporary Works (TW) between site teams, designers, and multiple design houses, managing submissions, approvals, and full design life-cycle from implementation to dismantling.
2. Review TW design briefs, ensuring suitability for design teams and compliance with procedures, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
3. Oversee on-site implementation of TW, including inspections, permit issuance, and ensuring adherence to approved designs.
4. Lead, mentor, and manage Temporary Works Supervisors and junior team members, providing guidance and support.
5. Promote and maintain Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards, identifying risks and ensuring compliance with all policies and legal requirements.
Essential Requirements
6. Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent (BSc, BA, BEng, MEng, Eng Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, or completion of a Higher Apprenticeship) is desirable.
7. Proven track record in managing a variety of reinforced concrete, formwork, and falsework Temporary Works schemes, ideally as a Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor.
8. Background in design and/or engineering management.
9. Strong understanding of Temporary Works management procedures and best practice (Temporary Works Ticket).
10. Hands-on experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
11. Good awareness of commercial processes and their impact on project delivery.
12. Must meet certain Right to Work criteria for security checks.
