The Senior Lead Rolling Stock Commercial Manager will work within the Rolling Stock area of the Commercial Directorate and have a key role in achieving the successful delivery and ongoing contract management of multiple commercial projects and contracts by ensuring works and services are delivered on time and within cost, and are managed in accordance with the relevant contractual terms and Transport for Wales's (TfW) Governance processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Lead a Commercial Team within the Rolling Stock Strategy area of the organisation by providing technical expertise on the monitoring and implementation of TfW Commercial policy and procedures across the wider TfW to ensure successful ongoing contract management delivery.
* Lead cost reporting of allocated projects within the TfW reporting framework by providing robust cost analysis including cost forecasting, anticipated final cost, cost of work done, gross billing and current contract value to ensure TfW are performing in line with their allocated budgets and programmes and ensuring value for the Welsh public is attained.
* Develop, enhance, and lead a team of Commercial Professionals by upskilling the team with knowledge and experience of delivering similar works and services.
* Manage the commercial aspects of allocated projects by raising issues and risks, implementing mitigation actions at the earliest opportunity, and acting as a point of escalation for all commercial issues within the scope of the role to ensure works and services are delivered in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions and TfW's Governance policies and procedures.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in relevant field such as Commercial Management or Engineering.
* Demonstrable experience in delivering rolling stock projects or fleet operations at a strategic level.
* Detailed knowledge of the UK rolling stock market (manufacturers, ROSCOs) and railway commercial contracts.
* Demonstrable experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects, including managing budgets and planning and programme responsibility.
