Join to apply for the Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist role at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The postholder provides advice, guidance and consultation to professionals across the West Midlands who are working with young people (up to the age of 18 years) who present with complex risk profiles (including risk to others) in the context of mental health/neurodiversity or where there is suspicion of either but no current diagnosis.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload (non-care coordination) and provide ongoing advice and guidance around risk management and reduction.
* Partake in the duty rota and accept new enquiries or referrals to the service, including providing initial advice around risk and signposting where appropriate.
* Work as a key professional within the Youth First MDT and collaborate with professionals across the West Midlands to provide risk-related advice and recommendations at the point of duty, ensuring immediate concerns are addressed and that allocation to the service occurs when required.
* Manage differing opinions and difficult relationships; offer appropriate challenge to ensure the young person\'s care pathway meets their unique needs.
* Work closely with the wider MDT to formulate risk and plan Youth First involvement; liaise with the safeguarding team to seek appropriate support and address safeguarding concerns.
* Participate in Youth First strategies such as Reflective Practice and Safeguarding Supervision to bolster resilience and safeguarding practice.
* Lead on new service development initiatives, audits, and pathways under the direction of the manager.
* Provide management cover as required.
