WISH Activity Team Member : Skelmersdale
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a WISH Activity Team Member at Stocks Hall Skelmersdale. This role involves providing high-quality support to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or dementia care is highly desirable but not required. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a warm and supportive environment for our residents, many of whom may be living with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive impairments. This is a paid position suitable for those passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of older adults.
WISH stands for wellbeing, interests, socialisation and hobbies! This role is for 4 days per week (some weekend work may be required for celebrating national holidays and company events).
Responsibilities
1. Support residents with specialised needs related to dementia and Alzheimer’s care
2. Promote independence whilst ensuring safety at all times
3. Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interactions to enhance their quality of life
4. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure personalised care plans are followed
5. Uphold dignity and respect for all residents, fostering a caring and respectful environment
Skills
6. Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or senior care is preferred
7. Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques
8. Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents and their families
9. Caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards elderly individuals
10. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the needs of different residents
11. Organised with good attention to detail in recording care activities and observations
12. A genuine interest in providing high-quality senior care and supporting vulnerable adults
