Key Objectives:
· Develop and support brand strategy for the brands within your portfolio across Europe. To achieve budgeted sales and profit targets in line with the business strategy, targets and company budgets
· Develop and execute marketing plans for the UK market and provide as a template to other European markets
· Develop and manage licensor relationships
· Functional responsibilities shared with European Brand Team (i.e. Nuremberg Toy Fair, UK Trade Shows, support for Deauville, Assets, samples)
The Role:
Strategic Planning: Work with Marketing Manager to develop mid-term brand growth plans in line with company objectives including:
· Feed into the global lead development of NPD
(US Led Brand NPD)
· Work with the Project Manager and Graphic Designer/ Manager to deliver assets on time and within agreed budgets
· Develop and propose brand spend levels as part of annual budget planning
· Interact with commercial finance to evaluate return on marketing investment
· Collaborate with the global marketing teams to provide EU insights to inform global strategy
· Proactively gather consumer and retailer insight to feed into product and brand planning
Annual Brand Plan:
· Develop and implement insight-driven annual brand plans in line with the company's strategy and business objectives
· Guardian of brand equity including positioning, pricing and promotional strategy
· Brief and deliver graphics, POS, and marketing materials to internal teams and external agencies as appropriate
· Develop and deliver compelling Range review and Marcom presentations for regional teams to localise and implement
· Proactively communicate with European sales and marketing colleagues to share and apply best practice and successes
· Execute line reviews to the highest standard, creating all the necessary materials to provide the EMEA sales team with all the right tools: compelling brand presentation, mock ups, samples, range plan, pricing in order to execute flawlessly
Trade:
· Partner with the Sales team to present brand plan and product ranges at retailer previews
· Have an appreciation of the needs and expectations of the various major retailers and channels within the UK
· Manage category specific requirements for consumer and trade events
· Work with the Sales team on short term tactical opportunities to exploit marketing campaigns in order to optimise listings and sales potential
· In collaboration with Marketing Manager and the Sales teams, implement the most effective trade marketing plans, maximizing in-store consumer visibility through execution of effective POS
· Manage trade press to ensure consistent and positive TOMY presence
Business KPIs (commercial management):
· Monitor brand performance including listings, NPD, rate of sale, media, instore activation, and identify and influence the delivery of corrective action
· Brand inventory management
· Ownership and control of branded A&P across Europe including evaluation of return on investment including responsibility for achievement of financial targets
· Development of and performance monitoring against licensor business plans and licence forecast updates
Insight:
Plan, deliver, interpret and act upon consumer insight to develop growth opportunities for the brand
Ownership of brand IP (trademarks, patents)
Protocols:
Ensure effective liaison with IP, Legal, Quality & Licensors for approval of brand & marketing activities & materials
The Person:
Growth and diversity are at the heart of TOMY's future, so you must feel at home working in a team where two days are never the same. The ideal candidate will have:
· A business-based qualification to degree level or equivalent
· 1-2 years' experience as Marketing Assistant or similar in a consumer goods business – toys or FMCG is a bonus
· A passion for toys & collectibles, pop culture and fandom- anime/manga/video game fan is a bonus
· Previous exposure to new product launches and product life cycle management
· The ability to build strong personal relationships with agencies and cross functional teams
· Fluency with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Market Data Software
· Fluency in English
· You will be open to occasional travel to UK & European destinations
Pay: £32,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
