Our Organisation
Climate Ed's mission is to teach children about climate change and inspire them to take action through a programme of workshops. By engaging young minds, we aim to foster a generation that is informed and proactive in addressing climate issues. Join us in making a difference in the world by empowering children to become climate champions.
Your role
We are looking for volunteers to deliver our programme of 5 hour-long climate change workshops in primary schools in Manchester and across the North West. As a Climate Workshop Facilitator, you will (with the support of the class teacher) teach full classes, engaging with students, and providing interactive learning experiences about climate change. You will receive training from Climate Ed and will then need to collaborate with teachers to organise and schedule sessions. Schools are busy places, and it's imperative that volunteers commit to a timetable for delivery of the workshops. Because of the cost involved in recruiting and training volunteers, we ask that volunteers deliver the programme to at least two cohorts of children, though this doesn't have to be in two consecutive school terms.
We are also seeking primary schools that would like to have our programme delivered in their schools - our volunteers often have strong connections with primary schools and we welcome introductions to interested parties.

* Passion for environmental issues and education, and a basic knowledge of climate change science
* Organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

* You will need to be based in the North West of England, able to travel and able to commit to delivering the full programme of 5 hour-long workshops over 5 weeks of a school term
* Climate Ed believes that a child or young person should never experience abuse of any kind. We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people and to keep them safe.
