Ashgrove Medical Group is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our forward-thinking team for a fixed-term period of 18 months. We are offering between 4 to 8 sessions per week, providing flexibility to suit your professional and personal commitments.
Operating across two sites in the South Wales area, we are a thriving, innovative practice dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care while fiercely protecting the well-being and workload of our clinicians.

The Role & Workload
We believe in a sustainable, safe working day. Your clinical workload is carefully managed to ensure a manageable pace:
Structured Consultations: Our templates offer a carefully balanced mix of pre-bookable appointments, on-the-day appointments, and eConsults.
Manageable Duty Days: On-call sessions are allocated strictly pro-rata. To ensure clinical safety and reduce fatigue, on-call duty is capped at a maximum of 35 triage slots.
Low Home Visits: Thanks to our triage systems and allied health professional support, our GP home visit rates remain consistently low.

Ashgrove Medical Group covers two sites at Ashgrove Surgery, Pontypridd, and Penrhiwceiber Medical Centre, Mountain Ash. We are highly-respected training practice in the heart of the Welsh Valleys. With a patient population of circa 20,000 patients including a student population from the University of South Wales. Our goal is to grow our established training abilities by becoming a centre of excellence whilst simultaneously providing the highest quality of Primary Care services. As well as placing a strong emphasis on education & training, the practice is also a high-tiered research centre with a purpose built research facility. We offer the majority of enhanced services including joint injections, gender identity services, DOAC initiation and monitoring and minor ops as well as holding the contracts for Cwm Taf and Cardiff & Vale for vasectomy services due to the fact that we have our very own operating theatre. We also provide Occupational Health services and a private Aesthetics clinic. The practice boasts an excellent and highly professional team of 7 GP Partners, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 7 salaried GPs, 1 Physician Associate, 2 Pharm Techs, 5 highly trained nurses, including prescriber and minor illness, 2 HCAs, 1 Phlebotomist all complimented by a supportive reception and administration team. About the Practice
You will be joining a highly supportive, well-structured environment looking after a diverse patient list of 20,000 at two sites - Ashgrove Surgery, Pontypridd & Penrhiwceiber Medical Centre, Mountain Ash.
We operate a robust, highly skilled Multidisciplinary Team - MDT designed to ensure patients see the right professional at the right time, significantly reducing the administrative and clinical burden on our GPs. Our team includes:
Advanced Nurse Practitioners & Practice Nurses
Health Care Support Workers - HCSWs
In-house Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
We also benefit from excellent integration with our Local Health Board - LHB, and cluster teams, providing direct access to:

We are an active research practice involved in ongoing clinical trials. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a GP looking to engage in research activity, maintain portfolio variety, and stay at the forefront of primary care developments.
