Priory Hospital Bristol is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team on thePrivate Addictions Ward
Part-time role with flexible hours available. £176,000 FTE
Based in Bristol, this role offers the opportunity to work within a well-established service specialising in the treatment of complex mental health and addiction disorders. Our programmes are grounded in evidence-based practice and focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
What you'll be doing
As Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director, you will provide both clinical and strategic leadership across the hospital. Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading the recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of medical staff
* Overseeing appraisals, revalidation, and performance management processes
* Ensuring compliance with clinical governance, healthcare policy, and best practice standards
* Contributing to strategic decision-making as part of the Senior Management Team
* Maintaining effective medical cover, including out-of-hours and leave arrangements
* Leading on investigations, complaints, and incident management
* Driving continuous improvement through learning from incidents, feedback, and outcomes
* Managing your own clinical caseload and maintaining high standards of care
* Representing the hospital with external stakeholders, commissioners, and partners

What you'll bring to the role
We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with strong clinical expertise and proven leadership capability. You will have:
* MRCPsych (or equivalent)
* CCT (or equivalent) and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
* Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
