Finance Manager - Magherafelt - Permanent

A confident and experienced Accounts professional is required to join the finance team and play a key role in the smooth running of financial operations.

This is a hands-on, senior-level position ideal for an experienced finance professional looking to contribute to a busy construction office environment. You will work closely with the Company Directors and external accountants to manage day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and compliance.

About the role:
1. Up to £35,000 per annum (DOE)
2. Monday to Friday
3. 37 hours a week

Key Responsibilities
8. Oversee and manage daily finance operations
9. Purchase ledger and sales ledger
10. Bank reconciliations and payment runs
11. VAT returns and HMRC submissions
12. Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports
13. Monitor project costs and budgets in collaboration with quantity surveyors and operations
14. Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients regarding payments and queries
15. Ensure all financial data is accurate, up to date, and recorded in accounting software
16. Support with year-end processes, audits and reporting
17. Manage payroll administration or coordinate with external payroll provider
18. Identify process improvements to streamline finance operations
19. Provide financial support and insights to the management team
Required Experience & Skills
20. 3+ years’ experience in a senior finance/accounts role (preferably in construction or a similar industry)
21. Strong understanding of financial principles, cost control, and budget management
22. Proficient in Sage, Xero, or similar accounting software
23. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
24. Excellent Excel and numerical skills
25. Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
26. Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
