Role : Drivers Mate / Drivers Assistant - Self Employed

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Driver’s Mate / Driver’s Assistant to support our D elivery and Collection Team operations. You will assist the Delivery Driver with the loading, unloading, and transportation of goods, ensuring excellent customer service and safe handling of items. This role involves working with charity shops or retail white goods, such as furniture, electrical appliances, and household items.
Assist the driver with loading and unloading of deliveries and collections.
Safely handle and transport furniture, appliances, and other goods.
Help maintain a clean and safe vehicle and warehouse/storage areas.
Follow health and safety procedures, including manual handling techniques.
Complete basic paperwork and records for deliveries and collections.
Assist in recycling or disposing of unwanted items as per company policies.
Teamwork: You’ll work alongside a friendly removals crew to help clients move locally and across the UK.
Learning on the Job: Full training will be provided, so you’ll feel confident in every part of the role.
Vetting: All applicants must hold or pass a Criminal Record Check.
Organisational Skills: Ability to manage collections, deliveries, and documentation, keeping track of schedules, inventory, and donations.
Ability to load, unload, and lift boxes or items (often requiring manual handling and heavy lifting).
Time Management: Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, ensuring that collections and deliveries are completed on time.
Team Player: Willing to work collaboratively with other staff members, both in the van, our and our clients operations.
Flexible: Willingness to adapt to changing schedules, tasks, and locations as required.
A genuine interest in and a passion for supporting the community or those in need.
Flexibility: You must have full time availability across the week, which will include weekend working.
