Freelance Social Media Video Editor (Instagram Reels) — Remote
An award-winning photographer known for iconic portraits of celebrities, chefs, musicians, and cultural figures is seeking a freelance video editor to create high-impact Instagram Reels and short-form social content. The work includes a mix of behind-the-scenes, campaign assets, event footage, and creative social-first edits. There is strong potential for ongoing collaboration and involvement in longer-form projects and ad campaigns.
What you'll do:
-Edit short-form social videos (primarily Instagram Reels) from a variety of source material into compelling, polished content.
-Handle the full post-production process: audio cleanup and mixing, tight visual edits, captions, graphics, and transitions.
Shape edits for pacing, clarity, and impact with strong storytelling and platform-aware formatting.
-Create clean, tasteful motion graphics and text treatments where needed.
-Deliver consistently on deadlines and communicate clearly about timelines and revisions.
-Adapt content for different formats or campaign needs when required.
What we're looking for:
-A strong short-form storyteller with excellent instincts for rhythm, structure, and visual flow.
-Proficiency across the core skills of modern social video editing:
-Audio: clean, balanced, intentional sound.
-Video: confident cutting, timing, and visual continuity.
-Captions: clear, engaging, platform-appropriate text.
-Graphics: simple, elegant motion or title treatments.
-Transitions: purposeful and polished, not gimmicky.
Reliable, professional communication and dependable turnaround times.
-A solid portfolio of social or short-form video work (experience with photography, art, food, music, or culture content is a plus).
-Fluency with industry-standard tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent).
Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.
