Vehicle Technician Required in Portsmouth
1. Basic Salary Up to £39,000
2. Prestige Independent Specialist
3. Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00 - 42 hours per week
4. No Weekends
We are seeking an experienced and capable Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join our clients busy and professional workshop. This is a hands-on role within a well-established business, working on a wide range of vehicles including cars and light commercial vehicles. Some work may also involve specialist diesel systems.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Carrying out MOT testing in line with DVSA standards
6. Servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of makes and models
7. Diagnosing faults using modern diagnostic equipment. Bosch KTS used.
8. Identifying additional repair requirements and reporting findings clearly
9. Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
10. Maintaining accurate job records and documentation
11. Communicating professionally with customers regarding vehicle faults and recommended repairs if required
12. Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
Requirements:
13. Qualified and experienced Vehicle Technician
14. Current and valid MOT testing licence (essential)
15. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
16. Competent in mechanical repairs
17. Experience working independently in a busy workshop
18. High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
19. Reliable timekeeper with a strong work ethic
20. Confident communicating with customers when required
21. Full UK driving licence
