Driver Training Manager
As the Trust evolves to support the education and development of our staff, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic Driver Training Manager.
The role involves leading all driver training aspects of the Trust’s operations, ensuring compliance with legislation and national policies. The Manager will oversee the driving work-streams within the workforce development strategy, aiming to meet the Trust’s targets and strategic outcomes.
Responsibilities include advising and reporting on driving skills and knowledge, supporting the Driving Standards Manager, Risk Management, and Governance teams to promote accident prevention and reduce incidents. The role also involves developing and quality assuring driver training programmes, managing driving instructors, and leading qualifications with awarding bodies.
Location and Working Pattern: The post will be based at a designated dispatch desk in Kent, Sussex, or Surrey, with travel across the Trust’s area as needed. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0900-1700. The position is available as full-time or part-time (0.5 WTE), with flexible working options considered.
Main Duties: Managing line responsibilities for driving instructors, administrators, and tutors, including appraisals, recruitment, and day-to-day management. Overseeing multiple training locations and vehicles, ensuring health and safety standards, and vehicle maintenance.

Salary is aligned with the Agenda for Change pay scales, with new hires placed at the bottom of the band unless relevant NHS experience is demonstrated.
Following legislation updates, staff vaccination against COVID-19 is recommended and required for frontline roles, with vaccination status reviewed during onboarding.
