Ancillary Staff - Shearwater Salary: Band 2, £24,413 - £24.796 p.a. (£9.897 - £10,052 for 15 hours) 15 hours per week Rota: all shifts: 07:30 – 12:30 week one: Mon/Tues/Sat/Sun, week two Thurs/Fri Your New Role Within this role you will provide a mix of domestic, kitchen, laundry and general tasks. These will include supporting domestic cleaning task in all areas of the home including lounges, dining rooms, occupational rooms, stores, bedrooms with ensuite facilities, bathrooms etc. Supporting residents with breakfast service, training will be provided. You will support the cook with meal preparations ensuring presented to high standards and maintain a clean kitchen environment including floors, surfaces, and store cupboards areas. In addition, you will clean/tidy all refrigerators/freezers, including checking temperatures and carry out any general kitchen task as required. With regard to laundry you will complete the laundry process including handling soiled laundry items according to infection control policy. You may be required to attend to light repairs of damaged items where needed. As well as laundry you will be required to wash and iron curtains etc to maintain a hygienic environment and deliver laundry to residents' rooms Who is the person summary: You will preferably have previously undertaken ancillary work in a residential setting or worked in a cleaning/kitchen or laundry service, although full training will be provided. You will be a flexible individual able to undertake a wide range of cleaning and general duties whilst working to a schedule and completing all allocated tasks within the specified time. You will be willing to undertake all mandatory and non-mandatory training required for the role including Level 2 food hygiene awareness, safeguarding awareness etc as well as for any machinery applicable to your role. With a demonstrable empathy for elderly people, you will be able to communicate effectively in a gentle and understanding manner and with professionalism within the team and with any visitors. You will need a basic IT knowledge to access information and complete E-learning, although support will be provided.
