The Aircraft Servicer services aircraft, performing tasks such as guiding aircraft on the ground, securing aircraft, and assisting with various ground support activities.
Principal Accountabilities
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Operating service vehicles for water, waste system chemicals, and other supplies.
2. Assisting with refueling, defueling, and towing aircraft.
3. Operating ground support equipment like electrical and engine starting carts.
4. Inspecting tires for proper pressure and condition.
5. Positioning boarding platforms for passenger loading/unloading.
6. De-icing aircraft wings and assemblies at select locations.
7. Extracting engine oil samples for analysis.
8. Coordinating with air traffic control for aircraft movement.
9. Retrieving and returning drag chutes.
10. Ordering parts in coordination with base supply.
11. Performing other assigned duties.
Knowledge & Skills
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of safety and security regulations and procedures.
* Additional skills may be required based on assignment or contract.
Experience & Education
* FAA airframe/powerplant license or equivalent aircraft maintenance experience documented on DD 214.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Additional experience or education may be required based on assignment or contract.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment
* Potentially remote and uncomfortable living and working conditions.
* Long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous conditions.
* Ability to move quickly and adapt to adverse conditions.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required.
Travel
* Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
