Hi there, We are currently on the hunt for someone to dog sit for us while we are away. This could either be full-time house and dog sitting, or dog sitting during the day each day while we’re away, as Brock is a very chilled dog and sleeps for most of the day. My partner has recently had major surgery and will be out of work for some time. He is originally from South Africa, so we are planning to travel there for around two months to allow him to relax, recover, and spend time with family in some winter sunshine. We explored every possible option to bring Brock with us, but unfortunately haven’t been able to find an airline that will fly him. As Brock is very comfortable in his own home, we feel this would be the best solution for him. One thing to note is that our kitchen is currently being renovated, so builders will be in and out during this time. There is a fully functioning kitchen, but it is split into two areas. The sink and washing machine remain in the main kitchen, while all cooking appliances (hob, oven, microwave, air fryer, fridge, coffee machine, etc.) are temporarily set up in the spare room. Because of this, we’re ideally looking for someone who doesn’t work, or who works remotely or on a hybrid basis. Brock is a very relaxed and content boy. He usually has a morning walk between 8–9am followed by breakfast, and an evening walk between 5–7pm followed by dinner. The rest of the time he mostly sleeps, with the occasional five minutes of fetch (before he gets bored very quickly!). He also loves watching TV We’re very easy-going when it comes to rules. Brock is allowed on the furniture and usually sleeps in our bed, though there is a spare room if you’d prefer not to share. We also have a crate stored in the loft if you’d rather he slept in a crate at night. Brock is absolutely fine being left at home on his own and is used to being left for 4–5 hours at a time. I’m a long-distance runner and often go out for up to four hours at the weekend, and I also work from a salon on Saturdays, so please don’t feel like you need to be at home with him all day, every day. The dates on the listing are flexible, as we haven’t booked flights yet. Our main priority is finding the right person to look after Brock, and once that’s sorted we’ll book the flights around that.
