About the Role
As Chef de Partie, you will take ownership of a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish leaving your station meets our high standards for quality, consistency, and presentation. You will play a key role in delivering classic garden centre favourites prepared with skill, speed, and attention to detail.
This is primarily a daytime role with a strong focus on breakfast, brunch, lunch service, and café offerings.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and present menu items to a consistently high standard
* Manage your section during service, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery
* Follow recipes, specifications, and portion controls accurately
* Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards at all times
* Ensure all food is fresh, properly stored, and labelled in line with regulations
* Support daily prep for breakfast, lunch, and café service
* Assist with stock rotation (FIFO) and minimise food waste
* Communicate effectively with the wider kitchen and front‑of‑house teams
* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workstation
* Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef with ordering, stock control, and deliveries
* Help train and support junior kitchen staff where required
* Contribute to a positive, professional kitchen culture
* Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained properly
* Adapt to busy periods with calm efficiency and teamwork
Food Style & Service
You will be producing high‑quality garden centre standard fare, including:
* Freshly prepared breakfasts and brunch dishes
* Traditional hot lunches and daily specials
* Homemade soups, pies, and savoury bakes
* Light café meals, sandwiches, and jacket potatoes
* Seasonal salads and vegetarian options
* Cakes, traybakes, and simple desserts (as required)
All dishes must be prepared according to company specifications and presentation guidelines, delivering consistency across every service.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis ready to step up
* Solid understanding of fresh food preparation and service
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure without compromising quality
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* A positive, reliable, and team‑focused attitude
