The CI/CD Platform Engineering Manager leads the implementation and evolution of Virgin Media O2’s CI/CD strategy, within Telco Cloud ensuring test and non-production environments align with industry best practices. This role combines Specialist Professional expertise in CI/CD and automation frameworks with Senior Management leadership in driving execution, maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs), and fostering high-quality software delivery processes.
Within Telco Cloud, the team deliver across our 4and 5G core infrastructure focusing on increasing agility, efficiency, and reliability across our public and private cloud, networking and service offerings, while reducing operational burden and enabling innovation for application owners.
Our on prem cloud solutions are currently hosted on VMware and moving to RedHat Openshift.
Key responsibilities
Technical Delivery:
1. Act as a recognized expert in CI/CD automation and infrastructure management
2. Design and implement frameworks for continuous integration, testing, and deployment
3. Establish best practices for environment provisioning, configuration, and access control
4. Ensure alignment with cloud-native architectures, emphasizing scalability and automation
5. Optimize automated testing coverage, leveraging Selenium, Grafana, and other monitoring tools
Senior Management Responsibilities:
6. Provide strategic direction for CI/CD process improvement initiatives
7. Oversee resource allocation, governance, and adherence to quality gates before production deployment
8. Lead cross-functional teams, collaborating with automation engineers and DevOps specialists
9. Maintain KPIs and defect tracking reports, ensuring transparency in development workflows
10. Drive stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment between business objectives and CI/CD execution
