Fabricator / Welder (Architectural Metalwork)
Location: Newry
Salary: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour
Job Type: Permanent (3-month probation period)
Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join a well-established company specialising in architectural metalwork. This role involves the fabrication and installation of high-quality structural and decorative steelwork across a variety of projects.
The successful candidate will have strong experience working with feature staircases, balustrades, railings, and escape stairs, using both mild steel and stainless steel .
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication of architectural metalwork including: Feature staircases
Escape stairs
Railings and balustrades
Working from engineering drawings to produce high-quality finished products
Welding using MIG, TIG, and Stick (Arc) processes
Cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components
Assisting with and carrying out on-site installations where required
Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines
Adhering to health & safety regulations at all times
Requirements
Minimum 4-5 years' experience in architectural metalwork fabrication and fitting
Proven experience working with: Mild steel
Stainless steel
Competent in: MIG welding
TIG welding
Stick (Arc) welding
Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings
Experience with both workshop fabrication and site installation
Strong attention to detail and quality of work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
