RAC have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner who can help pro-actively drive and own the financial performance of the Retention business within the Consumer Roadside portfolio. The Retention business is the largest part of the largest division in the RAC so this is a pivotal role. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and with responsibility for a small team of finance professionals, this strategic role will be responsible for forecasting and reporting across RACs retention business and includes a focus on supporting the sales operations team which plays a critical role in driving retention. You will have responsibility for all aspects of financial management including commercial pricing, budgeting, financial analysis and insight, decision making support, as well as daily, monthly and weekly reporting. To be successful in this role you will bring experience of working in complex organisations with a passion for numbers and analytics and an exemplary attention to detail with genuine enthusiasm for getting stuck into the numbers of your business. This is a hybrid role, working two days a week in the Bradley Stoke office. What will you do Inform business leaders and their decision-making through commercial understanding of the business area you support, with emphasis on: Develop new reporting to meet the needs of the business, and drive continuous improvement in current processes and reporting to enable the business to get to insight quicker, and reduce the risk of error Identifying areas of under/over performance and drive action to realise opportunities and mitigate risk Draw out and highlight trends and get behind the numbers to show what is driving performance Analyse results versus budget / prior years Analyse key performance indicators and understand and then explain the context of performance Bring these reports to life for the wider Consumer teams through the addition of insightful commercial commentary in weekly / monthly trading and commercial review meetings Ensure Retention and Sales Ops teams understand their reported numbers and impacts Support provision of financial appraisal and decision support with quick analysis that supports the right decision to be made quickly Perform required analysis e.g. Net Present Value, Cost Benefit, investment payback periods Lead the creation of the Retention budget and in-year forecasts (39, 66, 93) Understand and help shape the Group Strategy and Five Year Plan, and the specific short and medium term targets you are involved in influencing Qualifications The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant and a proven track record in leading a team and managing and working with senior stakeholders across their businesses. You will be highly analytical and able to assimilate information to then make a decision quickly. The role requires you to be a numbers person, with the ability to work with your team to analyse large volumes data within fast paced complex scenarios, you will show excellent financial modelling skills and have advanced MS Excel knowledge, and proven track record of working with Data and IT teams to shape and develop reporting capabilities. Along with this you will have proven stakeholder management at a senior level, helping to shape and influence business decisions and creating a healthy tension with your business partners to support creating a stretching budget and then achieving that.
