As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
Year one:
* Under instruction and within training guidelines, operate/train in the use of Cullum machinery/ equipment in order to gain a good knowledge of machine capacities and metal working techniques.
* Learn and develop plating skills and increase knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes
* To carry out instructions from the Technical Service Manager and Team Leaders in all aspects of the role and produce a consistently high standard of work, meeting the targets and deadlines set by the manager and relevant training facilitators
Years two and three:
* Preparation of engineering calculations over a number of disciplines in support of detailed design schemes
* Participate in research and development activities
* Aid with the carrying out of site survey activities
* Produce sketch drawings of design concepts in sufficient detail to enable production of detail design definition drawings
* Use IT packages effectively in the course of engineering activities (Excel, Word, Mathcad, CAD, PDM, PLM, etc.)
* Interpret engineering drawings
* Interpret and implement engineering specifications and standards
* Self-development to meet new requirements
* Provide progress status reports to line management on a regular basis and work to achieve or improve company and customer objectives of program, cost and quality
* Hazard identification and risk reduction
