MEWPS Engineer – Wakefield
Role Overview
Carrying out pre‑delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines. Attending breakdowns on customer sites. Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company‑issued PDA, following company procedure at all times. Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.
Qualifications
* You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
* Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
* Have experience in fault‑finding/diagnostics.
* Work closely with customers and colleagues, and communicate professionally.
* Prioritise tasks in an ever‑changing, demanding hire environment.
* A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
* A valid CAP licence would be desirable.
* Mobile engineer, plant maintenance, communication, diagnostics, PDI, servicing, LOLER inspections, repairs, and powered access skills.
Responsibilities
* Carry out pre‑delivery inspections (PDIs) and related services.
* Conduct LOLER inspections and perform repairs.
* Execute manufacturer updates.
* Attend breakdowns at customer sites.
* Record all checks using a company‑issued PDA.
* Communicate effectively with the engineering team and hire office.
