Phantom Works is seeking a Senior Configuration Management Engineers to join the Phantom Works Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) in Berkeley, MO. This role supports an exciting proprietary program critical to Boeing and our DoD Customers. The selected candidate will work with SMEs across the program to develop a complex and highly integrated weapons system, embracing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering strategies.
The person selected will address technical and affordability challenges. Top candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, foster an engaging culture, and uphold high ethical standards while delivering results. This position requires experience in Configuration Management & Data Management (CM/DM) across multiple product lifecycle phases, including concept development, design, test, and production. Proficiency in CM/DM and Systems Engineering tools and processes is essential. Experience managing multiple configurations in a Digital Engineering environment is highly desirable. Experience with early-stage system design control is a plus.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Schedule and execute the SEIT-CM/DM statement of work (e.g., Configuration Management, Data Management, Configuration Control Board, Product Data Manager database).
2. Develop and document the Program’s Configuration Management and Data Management plans.
3. Ensure Supplier Configuration Management Plans support robust change control throughout the product lifecycle.
4. Execute the Program’s Configuration Control Boards.
5. Develop innovative approaches to managing large volumes of digital data.
6. Maintain daily interfaces with SEIT manager, Program Management, Program Chief Engineer, Program Teams, and Program Customers; contribute to performance evaluations, development, and career counseling.
This role is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed locations. Travel may be required up to 10% domestically and/or internationally based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
* 9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s, or 7+ years with a Master’s, or 4+ years with a PhD.
* Experience with product lifecycle management tools.
Additional Details:
Education typically acquired through advanced technical education plus related work experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.
