We are a vibrant Turkish restaurant in Dagenham, offering a rich and authentic menu that includes cold and hot meze, charcoal-grilled kebabs, lahmacun, ali nazik, traditional soups, fresh salads, and homemade desserts like baklava. We're looking for a skilled Turkish Chef who can bring passion, precision, and creativity to our kitchen.
Responsibilities
* Prepare a variety of cold and hot meze (e.g., hummus, cacık, mücver, sigara böreği)
* Cook charcoal-grilled kebabs and shish, including lamb, chicken, and mixed platters
* Master dishes like lahmacun, ali nazik, and köfte
* Craft traditional Turkish soups such as mercimek (lentil), ezogelin, and yayla
* Assemble fresh salads like çoban salatası, gavurdağı, and bulgur salad
* Bake and present Turkish desserts, especially baklava, sütlaç, and künefe
* Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organization
* Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction
* Monitor inventory and assist with sourcing authentic ingredients
* Innovate seasonal specials while preserving traditional flavors
Experience
* Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
* Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques.
* Previous supervisory or team management experience is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen environment.
* Excellent leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
