About The Job: As a Linux Network Administrator, you would have responsibility for Rakon's UK computing and communication resources. You would be expected to work with local users to create a highly productive workspace and with Rakon's global IS team to support a company-wide security environment. Your Responsibilities will include: Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and Windows Server/Windows 10 environments. Monitor disk usage, backups, updates, and licensing. Provide 1st & 2nd line support for users, including Linux graphics terminal users and Windows 10/Office 365 users. Perform local modifications to Active Directory, manage group policies, and administer user/machine accounts. Develop shell and Python scripts for automation tasks. Implement global security policies, including client VPN and multi-factor authentication. Maintain Weekly/Daily backups using Backup Exec and manage hardware support contracts. The successful candidate will have: 5 years' experience supporting and administering both Linux and Windows. A relevant degree or extensive job-based training. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team, fostering productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. A methodical and systematic approach to work and attention to detail. Ideally you will have: Some exposure to Cadence IC design/simulation. Familiarity with VMware.
