Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join our Mental Health & Learning Disability pharmacy team as a senior pharmacy technician at Royal Cornhill Hospital. The key role involves delivering a busy dispensing service for in-patients and out-patients, deputising for the Lead Pharmacy Technician, organising the dispensary workload, and coordinating dispensing and supply of clozapine.
Responsibilities
* Active involvement in the dispensing process, including final accuracy checks.
* Day‑to‑day organisation of the dispensary workload.
* Providing technical support to wards and coordinating dispensing and supply of clozapine.
* Training pharmacy staff and multidisciplinary team members.
* Medicines management at ward level, supporting medicines reconciliation, checking patients’ own medicines, and organising supply for in‑patient stay and discharge.
* Lead role in medicines‑related audit.
* Commitment to rotational weekend working in the dispensary at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered pharmacy technician.
* Willingness to undertake the Accredited Checking Technician qualification.
* Interest in working within mental health.

Additional Information
As from 1/4/26 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. There will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
