We are looking for a Senior Structured Underwriter (m/f), based in London.
The Impact You Will Have
At Allianz Commercial, we support our clients by delivering the best solutions for managing, controlling, and reducing risks.
Based in London and reporting to the Regional Head of Alternative Risk Transfer, you will help implement the global strategy for ART as part of the regional team.
Your core responsibility will be underwriting ART stand-alone and program transactions. As a senior team member, you will generate new business and coordinate deal teams to provide bespoke solutions to clients. You will also help develop broader knowledge of ART products across Allianz Commercial.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Independently underwrite new ART stand-alone and program transactions within the governance framework and appetite.
* Source new business from brokers and direct markets.
* Promote ART techniques and solutions to clients and brokers.
* Support growth opportunities, planning, and budgeting.
* Train and coach less experienced staff.
* Oversee operational aspects of ART program transactions.
* Ensure compliance and accurate policy documentation.
* Coordinate with legal teams on policy wording.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree or equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Actuarial background.
* Preferably 5+ years of experience with ART transactions/products or extensive underwriting knowledge in related lines.
* Good knowledge of the ART marketplace.
* Understanding of ART underwriting, pricing, and transaction management.
* Negotiation experience with international legal documents.
* Ability to incorporate AI insights to optimize outcomes.
* Excellent communication, entrepreneurial thinking, and motivational skills.
