SRG is pleased to be partnering with an organisation involved in the development of human biomimetic platforms. As a Senior Scientist working in the Biology team, you will be managing scientific projects and reporting to the lead scientist.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive and lead projects which develop or utilise Organ-on-a-Chip technology for drug development and discovery.
* Conduct and optimise experiments or protocols using cell biology and bioengineering tools.
* Provide fully costed and planned projects and active use of project management tools to track budgets and schedules.
* Rigorously analyse and interpret experiments and present data in numerous formats.
* Ensure all experiments are correctly recorded and data integrity is maintained to a high standard.
* Communicate progress, successes and challenges with the Biology team, commercial team and wider company when required.
* Be responsible for all aspects of running experiments including upkeep of the lab, maintaining stocks, record keeping, updating protocols and maintaining good health and safety practices.
* Supervise, mentor and train junior members of the team in scientific and operational aspects.
Desired Experience:
* PhD (or Equivalent) in biology, bioengineering or related subject with experience working in a regulated environment
* Extensive experience with qPCR
* Experience in primary human cell culture models, experience in liver models would be advantageous.
* Expertise in liver biology.
* Expertise in a broad range of techniques such as molecular biology, immunoassays and confocal microscopy.
